Born 1949, Clive spent four years at a Canadian University reading industrial psychology and French literature before joining C T Bowring and Co Ltd in 1972. He left Bowring, by then Marsh and McLennan, and  since  has been a main board director of RFIB group (specialising primarily in retail broking).

Clive is chairman of Ronald McDonald house charities whose primary focus is the provision of free accommodation for the families of children in hospital.
